I was 14 in 2000 and had no direction and nothing really amazing or bad happening to me.

Now in 2009 I have a long term girlfriend of 4 years and im finishing off my degree (aiming for a 2:1 at least) in Digital Film Production. And on top of that I made a bunch of friends and new people through places like Hvy's as well as at University.

The noughties have been good to me!

Fatter = Check
Less Disposable Income = Check
Less Swanky digs = Check
Less hopes for the future = Check

I am doing less well than in the year 2000.

Seriously considered shaving my mangina into a heart and getting it dyed pink on more than one occasion (for the ladies...), and declining that mangina shave option, so, win.

I am speaking just generally.. I mean.. how you livin? in general sense.

my house is 3x bigger..
my yard is 1/10 as big.
i am +2 kids
income wise I am up about 33%
Which equates for almost no difference.. I got nicer more expensive higher quality shit.. but.. I am not living AWESOME or anything. I think this new decade is mine however. I sense BIG breaks on 4 different possibilities in this next 2 years. So we will see..

I voted somewhat better.

oh and I am +20 lbs too.

For me it is hard to say.

I've been married twice and divorced once.  I have a daughter with my first and have to pay child support that equates to about 1/4 of my take home.  I have 2 boys with my current love of my life, and I make a good living.

My dad recently had prostate cancer but seems to be doing better.  My mom just had pneumonia which was scare.

I'd have to say getting older sucks because you have much more responsibility and more things to worry about.  Oh well.

Well, considering the amount of people that I knew that are no longer w/ us I think I'm doing pretty damn well in comparison.  In reality I'm doing ok.  I should be doing a bit better, but as long as I'm healthy then there's no reason for me not to improve.

This past decade seemed to fly by real quick.  Half of it was spent w/ a long term gf and I  feel I wasted too much time during that time.  I need to learn how to manage my time more efficiently.  So I will start to set some simple goals.  I'll start slowly and work my way to bigger goals.  In other words I need to start setting a real plan for the future.  Time seems to go by faster and faster.  I swear a month goes by like a week.  A year goes by like a few months.

I met last year's resolution which wasn't too hard.  My resolution was to get back into my high school weight.  I had to lose 10 pounds and ended up losing about 13.  So this year isn't difficult either.  It's more of a lifestyle change.  I will start setting short term and work my way up to longer term goals.

For those that want to lose weight...I would suggest you simply drop soda (pop) altogether.  I used to drink 1 can of soda daily.  I stopped and I lost 10 pounds w/o even trying.  That regular soda a day was the thing keeping me 10-15 pounds overweight.  Trust...soda isn't hard to replace.  There are loads of alternatives to drinking high fructose syrup.  Now, it doesn't mean I never drink soda anymore.  I'll drink half a cup if I get a burger meal @ some fast food joint.  Then I just  refill the cup w/ tea or something that isn't soda.  I basically replaced soda w/ gatorade/powerade.  I prefer powerade and it costs less too.  Anyway good luck for those want to lose weight.

+1 for 2000s:
Three new and health girls, transitioned into renewable energy in 2001, great new friends, started playing basketball and baseball again, got below 200 lbs, a bunch of great vacations.

Disposable income = more.
Discretionary income = less.

Got basement finished.
Became partner and co-owner in my firm.
Everyone has maintained health.

Goals for 2010s:
Survive teenage years
Save money for college.
Stay healthy.
Keep riding renewable/alternative energy wave.
